Announcements allow instructors to communicate with students about course activities and post interesting course-related topics. Announcements are designed to allow instructors to broadcast information out to all members of a published course or to all members of sections within a published course.

E-mailing Announcements to Yourself

By default, announcements created by a person are not emailed to that person. If you can change this by:


Text Instructions

  1. Click on the account icon
    Canvas navigation with the Account icon, under the University of Redlands logo, is highlighted by a box.
  2. From the pop-up menu select Notifications

  3. Under the Course Activities find the option for Announcements Created by You

  4. Click on the Bell icon

  5.  From the dropdown menu select Notify immediately

  6. Once selected the bell icon will turn green, indicating the announcement will be sent to you.
