Steve Garcia

Chief Information Officer

Steve Garcia has over 30 years of experience in Information Technology, spending the last 25 focused primarily on higher education.

Steve returned to the University of Redlands in 2011 after 10 years as an Information Technology consultant in higher education. During this time, he had the opportunity to work with many colleges and universities helping them to restructure IT operations, create business intelligence frameworks, and align process and technology.

Prior to his consulting work, Steve served at the University of Redlands as an analyst in both the Offices of Institutional Research and Information Technology Services. He began his career in IT as a programmer and systems analyst in the public utilities sector assisting water companies in Southern California to automate their maintenance and billing operations.

Steve is a member of the Southern California Higher Ed CIO Alliance and serves on the Executive Board of Town and Gown. He received his BBA from Bryant and Stratton College.

Office of the Chief Information Officer

Reporting to the Provost and the President, the Chief Information Officer (CIO) serves as a member of the President's Cabinet and leads the Office of Information Technology Services. As the senior technology administrator for the institution, the CIO is responsible for providing leadership and strategic direction in the areas of instructional technology, information services, web development and support, systems and network infrastructure, media services, and client support and services.
