WebEx allows users to video chat and screen share. This is great for video and audio conferencing, mobile collaboration, and online meetings. To get started, go to and sign in with your Redlands ID.


The University of Redlands has an enterprise license for use for all faculty, students, and staff. 

Common Uses for Webex:

  • Deliver live classes while working remotely
  • Create a virtual classroom
  • Share and collaborate with students using an interactive whiteboard
  • Hold meetings between different course sections
  • Invite an off-campus guest speaker to join the class remotely
  • Upload PowerPoint files
  • Poll participants to elicit questions and guide instruction
  • Create a synchronous session for a student group project
  • Enable critiques of student work by professionals off-site 

For Faculty:

  • Hold faculty office hours and drop-in sessions
  • Participate in one-on-one advising/tutoring
  • Bring remote speakers into classrooms
  • Record lecture sessions for later viewing
  • Collaborate with global research community

For Students:

  • Share documents, videos, and presentations in real time
  • Participate in one-on-one advising/tutoring
  • Collaborate with teams on class projects
  • Record presentations for feedback and review
  • Network with other chapters of your student organization

For Staff:

  • Share documents, videos and presentations in real time
  • Hold webinars for prospective and admitted students
  • Offer live face-to-face help for University services
  • Record presentations for feedback and review
  • Interview remote candidates

Do participants need a WebEx account to join a meeting?

No. Anyone can join a meeting using the WebEx mobile app or desktop application for Windows and Mac. This means you can hold meetings with students, co-workers, or even people who aren’t affiliated with UoR without them having to create an account.
