The University of Redlands Creative Writing Department will welcome author Janet Fitch for a reading followed by a reception and book signing at 4:30 p.m. March 21 in the Hall of Letters, Room 100, on the main university campus. This event is free and open to the public.

Fitch, a Los Angeles native, is the author of “White Oleander,” an Oprah Book Club selection which was also the basis of a feature film, “Paint It Black,” and most recently “The Revolution of Marina M.,” an epic novel set during the Russian Revolution. “Chimes of a Lost Cathedral,” the conclusion of her Russian Revolution epic, will be published in July 2019.

Her short stories and essays have appeared in a variety of publications including Los Angeles Noir, the Los Angeles Times, Los Angeles Review of Books and Vogue. She holds a BA in history from Reed College and taught creative writing for 14 years in the USC Master of Professional Writing program, in the UCLA Writer’s Program, and at Pomona College. She lectures frequently on fiction writing.
