Anti-racist author and educator Tim Wise to speak at UR

Prominent anti-racism activist and author Tim Wise will present a talk based on his book, Culture of Cruelty: How America's Elite Demonize the Poor, Valorize the Rich and Jeopardize the Future, at the University of Redlands, 7 p.m., Nov. 2, 2016 in the Memorial Chapel. 

He is the author of several books including his latest work, "Under the Affluence: Shaming the Poor, Praising the Rich and Sacrificing the Future of America." Named one of the "25 Visionaries Who Are Changing the World" by Utne Reader, Wise's work has appeared online on Salon.com, in the Huffington Post and on other internet sites. He also offers commentary for radio and television news shows. 

Wise will sign books after the event. Cost is $10 for general admission, free to UR students, staff and faculty.
