Employee Appreciation and Recognition

The University of Redlands and URSAA celebrate the excellence of our staff and administrators with appreciation initiatives and awards throughout the year!

Easy Parking Appreciation Program

The University of Redlands Staff and Administrators Assembly (URSAA) Executive Board and the Personnel Committee coordinate the Easy Parking Appreciation Program. This program is intended to thank those who have contributed their time and efforts to University community service and participation––which enhances and strengthens our URSAA family––by honoring three members of our community per semester with a personalized, reserved parking space near the building in which they work. Recipients have access to their reserved parking space Monday through Friday during their regular work hours. Spring recipients have their parking space from January through May and fall recipients have their parking space from August through December. The program is not active during the summer months (June through mid-August).

Labor on Labor Day Candy Appreciation

For the employees who work on Labor Day, URSAA delivers a little treat to their department in appreciation of their hard work, commitment and dedication to the University!

All University Holiday Luncheon

The Office of the President and the University of Redlands Staff and Administrators Assembly (URSAA) invite faculty, staff, and administrators to celebrate the holidays as a university community at the annual Holiday Luncheon during finals week each December in the Orton Center. University employees come together to enjoy some good food, great company and the announcement of the President’s Award recipients, presented by President Kuncl himself, and the recipient of the Frank J. Rice Award, presented by the previous year’s award winner. Employee Service Awards are announced and raffle prizes are given to many lucky attendees.

As part of the luncheon, employees also have the option to donate canned food and an unwrapped gift that is donated to a local non-profit to help meet the needs of our greater Redlands community during the holiday season.

National Employee Appreciation Day (First Friday of March)

Employee Appreciation Day is an unofficial holiday observed on the first Friday in March in the United States and Canada. It is a day for companies to thank their employees for their hard work and effort throughout the year. This day was created to strengthen the bond between employer and employee. URSAA delivers donuts to each department on the Monday after the holiday in appreciation of all that they do!

Spring picnic

The URSAA Spring Picnic takes place in mid-spring each year and is typically held in an outdoor location on campus. Employees gather together for a potluck-style lunch and enjoy food and the opportunity to relax and converse with colleagues from across campus. We often have games and photo booth. Participants are enthusiastically cheered on from the sidelines and a good time is had by all!

URSAA Business Meetings

This Business meetings take place at least once a year. These meetings often include time for Cabinet to present current initiatives to our members, including a Q&A session. While we encourage our members to come to these meetings to network, we also broadcast these meetings via livestream. Prior to the spring meeting, the URSAA Executive Committee requests nominations for new officers.

Ice cream social

Each summer, URSAA hosts an ice cream social. Members are invited to take a break from work to enjoy a treat together.
