University of Redlands welcomes Class of 2023

The University of Redlands this week welcomed a talented and diverse class of 728 first-year and 94 transfer undergraduate students from 35 states and 24 countries. About 39 percent are among the first generation in their families to attend college. Move-in began Wednesday, Aug. 28 for the majority of first-year students who will live on the main Redlands campus.

The remainder of the week includes planned activities for families and orientation for students. Classes begin Sept. 3.

At the opening convocation, University President Ralph Kuncl advised students, “There will be challenging days on campus; that’s a given. But if you give it your best effort, you can be prepared to surmount whatever hurdle comes your way. Study hard — yes — and build relationships with your faculty. Lean on your community.”

The incoming undergraduate class begins the 112th academic year at the University of Redlands.
