'Our Towns' chronicles 100,000-mile journey into the heart of America

Authors James and Deborah Fallows to talk about their adventure and what they learned about a country busy remaking itself.

For the last five years, Redlands native James Fallows and his wife Deborah have traveled across America in a single-engine prop airplane, visiting smaller and medium-sized cities and meeting civic leaders, factory workers, recent immigrants, and young entrepreneurs to take the pulse and understand the prospects of places that usually draw notice only after a disaster or during a political campaign. The story of their journey – Our Towns – presents a realistically positive and provocative view of the country between its coasts. Hear their stories at 8 p.m. Wednesday, May 16, 2018, at the University of Redlands Memorial Chapel.
