UR’s School of Music talent showcased in special concert

Organist Frederick SwannREDLANDS, California (March 6, 2017)—Thanks to the generosity of an anonymous donor, internationally known organist Frederick Swann and the talented vocalists of the University’s Chapel Singers, Bel Canto, and University Choir will give a special performance of Gabriel Fauré’s Requiem, Opus 48 and Maurice Duruflé’s Requiem, Opus 9.

The concert will take place at 8 p.m. March 17, 2017, in the historic Memorial Chapel on campus at the University of Redlands.

Swann—an artist-teacher of organ and event organist at the University of Redlands— will play the University’s Casavant Opus 1230 pipe organ to accompany the voices of the choral groups. The performance will be conducted by University of Redlands Professor of the Year Nicholle Andrews, who directs choral studies in the School of Music.

This once-in-a-lifetime event is free and open to the public.
