University of Redlands Professor and Author Kathy Feeley will talk about the focus of her book, ‘Mary Pickford: Hollywood and the New Woman’ at the Redlands Forum
REDLANDS, California (Feb. 2, 2017)— She was the first “America’s Sweetheart” and a classic “rags-to-riches” tale, but there is more to the story of Mary Pickford.
Smart, ambitious and talented, Pickford boldly pushed boundaries to become one of the highest-paid movie stars of her time. In fact, while writing Mary Pickford: Hollywood and the New Woman, author Kathleen Feeley said she was surprised to learn of the depth and range of Pickford’s accomplishments.
Learn of those accomplishments and more when Feeley presents “Watching Mary Pickford: Her Life and Work in Early Hollywood” at the Redlands Forum, 5:30 p.m. Feb. 8, 2017, at the Esri Conference Center. The event is free and open to the public, but registration is required.
