The Learning Commons would be created within the existing Armacost Library footprint. It represents a transformative vision—and major capital project—that would create an engaged learning and student support space at Redlands, equivalent to those at many competitor institutions. Extensive planning with multiple stakeholders and the design firm Noll and Tam took place from spring 2017 through December 2018. We will use the final, preferred concept renderings provided by Noll & Tam in capital planning and fundraising, and as a guide for incremental renovations in the Armacost Library. In mid-December of 2018, we launched a national search for an Associate Provost and Director of the Armacost Library & Learning Commons.
Capital target of TBD for next campaign. Design study completed through gift funding.
Contributions to student success, retention and satisfaction metrics to be adjusted so we can assess these improvements.
This initiative is expected to support a richer student experience and promote recruitment.
